The EPA has long been a trusted source for climate change information. Much of that information is now gone.
Early in December of 2025, at least 80 EPA web pages about climate change were deleted from the website. Some material was replaced with false information that climate change is caused by Earth's orbit and "variations in solar activity". Many signs and effects of climate change were also deleted, from rising temperatures to ice melt.
When asked about the deleted pages, the EPA claimed they are upholding "gold science standards."
This is simply false. For decades, real science has been telling us what climate change is and why it is happening. The United States is one of the world's largest polluters and the world's largest economy. But instead of using their wealth to help solve the climate crisis, they are denying its existence.
In a day and age where misinformation is everywhere, the EPA, for many people, has been a great source of accurate climate change information. However, when huge countries and entities, like the U.S. and big oil, refuse to take accountability for climate change, and even deny that it is human-caused, it becomes harder and harder to know what is actually accurate.
